Reviews for John Masters Organics Sweet Orange & Silk Protein Styling Gel 236ml
I have very fine and silky long hair and I have to use a styling product to give it some grip and body, especially when I want to wear my hair slick back. Hair gels get too hard and easily break my hair when I comb through it. Hair sprays also tend to get very hard and if I'm not careful make my hairdo look very stiff. It took a bit of experimenting but now I'm superpleased. This is the first styling gel EVER that creates the look I want. It gives my hair just enough grip to stay back but it also stays manageable, so I can run my fingers through my hair. I do use a bit of hair spray as a finish, but only on the first day after shampooing when my hair is very soft or when I want it really slicked back. I'm so relieved I don't have to use so much hair spray anymore. Also, it's great that there is no alcohol in it, which dries out hair. It does get flaky but only when I use too much in one go. So this gives my hair grip but doesn't fixate it and that makes a very natural look. Thank you, John Masters!
Having used John Masters citrus and neroli conditioner for some time now I decided to try out their styling gel. I have quite long, naturally curly hair and find that a bit of gel or similar styling product gives my hair a bit of volume and holds the style through the day. Unfortunately this did neither. My hair felt like straw, all the normal shine was gone and although my curls were defined (and a bit crunchy) for the morning, by lunchtime my hair was looking a bit limp and lifeless (though credit where credit's due, it wasn't too frizzy!). I also found that when brushing my hair out the following morning before washing it I created a virtual blizzard of white flakes, as the product was brushed loose of the hair - not good! For the pricetag I felt this product was a real let down and despite the amount of money spent on it I won't be using it again.
